Photo’s of me growing up: It’s my birthday!

Today’s blog post is a bit different. It is a timeline of me growing up in just photos. I don’t have infant photos of me as I am not living at home but I do have some photos from when I was about 12 until now which can serve the same purpose. I have grown so much in the last couple of years and I am so thankful that I have. In my short lifespan I have done a lot; seen a lot and been through a lot -both good and bad- and it has really shaped me to be the person I am today which I am thankful for.

This was me in grade 7. I was (and still am) extremely awkward. I don’t know why this photo was taken, but I remember a girl in my class having a camera and taking this.

I don’t remember this day. I do remember that my wrist was broken and we had not gone to the doctor. I am VERY clumsy and we just thought I had hurt it. Yeah, 9 months later in a brace, I finally stopped wearing it as it irritated me so much. I still have a lot of pain associated with the wrist which is hilarious (and sad)

This is my nephew. I love him more than he knows. He’s a lot older than this and probably almost as tall as me. I remember this day so clearly. We took the kids to Mitchell’s park- where I had grown up going to all the time to see the animals and play in the park there.

This was one of the last images of my mom and I. This was Christmas 2013, I had just finished high school and was waiting to move to America for the first time. I was very happy here and I think it was one of the nicest Christmasses I have had. It was also the last time I truly felt the Christmas spirit. My mom was a crazy person for Christmas. Not the holiday but making sure everyone who did not have a family, would come to us and have Christmas with us.

This was at my farewell in September 2014. This is my mom; brother and his family. As you can tell, he has a lot of kids. All of whom I love so much. It’s hard not being around them and watch them grow but I love to see photos of them and talk to them.

2014- Day 2 in America. I was elated. This was at the top of the rock. Exhausted beyond anything but happy. I have come such a long way from this photo and I am so proud of it!

Somewhere in 2015- Charlie and I met on a Facebook page. She has been an incredible friend ever since. I don’t even know where we were when this was taken but I always remember having an incredible time with her and still do.

2015- Christmas with my friends. This was a really fun day. It did not feel like Christmas but we had a good day. The friendships that you make with Au Pairs during your year is incredible. I am so glad that I got to meet these girls

This is one of the last weeks of my being in The Netherlands. I loved the friends that I made in Holland. I still talk to most of them today.

Going through these photos has really made me appreciate a lot of friendships and everything that has gone on in my life. I am so appreciative of friendships and relationships that I have formed over the last couple of years and I am looking forward to sharing more memories with the people I love. Thank you for sharing these memories with me. I appreciate it. If you want to read more about me and what I like you can read a blog post about it here.
